What are the Best Blinds for Privacy?

What are the Best Blinds for Privacy?

Privacy is something we all want and expect in our homes. But if your home is closely facing another, or you live on a busy road, this can be difficult to achieve. So, whilst beautiful large windows are a desirable asset to have, finding the perfect blinds for privacy is essential.

Blinds provide the perfect window dressing solution for privacy, and with so many styles on the market these days, it’s easy to find the perfect set! But since you’re here you’re probably wondering, ‘What are the best blinds for privacy?’. Let us tell you…

A1’s Blinds for Privacy in Your Home…

All blind styles will provide you with a degree of privacy and at A1 we have 13 styles to choose from! This includes vertical, Venetian, pleated, panel, allusion blinds and many more! However, if total privacy is what you desire, A1’s top picks are roller, Roman, or pleated blinds. Here’s why…

Made up of a single-piece fabric, Roller, Roman and pleated are all fantastic blinds for privacy. A simple pull on a cord (or a click of a button, if you’re fancy) will close your blind completely, providing instant privacy!

Rollers, Roman’s and pleated are not only great blinds for privacy, but they also offer large canvases for beautiful fabrics, colours, and patterns. Roller blinds offer a sleek fabric design, Roman blinds open to create beautiful folds, and pleated blinds comprise lots of elegant pleats. All of which are available in a wide range of designs and colour tones for you to choose from.

Take a look at our Roller, Roman and Pleated blinds for privacy today!

But What If It’s Blinds for Privacy AND Light Control You Need?

The above options are great for granting you privacy – but if you also want to let the light in at the same time, you might want to consider other options! Because no matter where you live, maximum privacy and natural light are definitely nice-to-haves.

So, what are the best blinds for privacy AND light control? We recommend Shutters, Venetian, Vision, or Vertical blinds for privacy and light control. Here’s why…

Venetian Blinds for Privacy and Light Control

Venetian blinds are incredibly versatile when it comes to privacy and light control. Like other blinds, they can be fully closed or fully opened. Although, it is uncommon for Venetian’s to be fully raised, but the option is there if you wish!

Thanks to their design though, their horizontal slats can also be tilted at any angle to allow lots of light into the home. Plus, Tilting the slats at a 45-degree angle will allow you to see our, but stop on-lookers from seeing in! Therefore, granting great flexibility in terms of blinds for privacy and light control.

Vertical blinds for privacy

Vertical Blinds for Privacy and Light Control

Much like Venetian’s, verticals are fantastic blinds for privacy and light control! Verticals are very similar to Venetians in the way they open and close fully or can be tilted at an angle. The key difference is, as stated in their name, their slats are Vertical!

Verticals are a great option for large windows and patio doors. They also provide easy access to the garden should you wish – if you go for the non-clipped style.

Vertical blinds for privacy and light control

Vision Blinds for Privacy and Light Control

Another option is Vision (AKA Day and Night) blinds for privacy and light control. This style alternates stripes of opaque and sheer fabric. The stripes can be positioned to be fully closed or aligned so that the stripes give privacy without entirely blocking the light. They can also be opened completely, like a roller blind.

Vision blind’s simplistic design will make a modern window dressing for any home. A1 has a wide selection of colours and neutrals to suit every décor.

Vision blinds for privacy and light control

Shutters for Privacy and Light Control

Shutters are traditionally found in warmer countries thanks to their ability to maintain and reflect heat. However, they’ve made a huge mark on the UK market in recent years thanks to their chic aesthetic.

Our contemporary shutters lend a sophisticated feel to any room. Like Venetians, you’ll have the freedom to control the degree of light and privacy in your room by tilting the slats or opening them fully. The choice is yours! Their adjustable slats ensure privacy, reduce external noise, AND enhance insulation. What more could you want?!

How To Choose Blinds For Living Rooms

How To Choose Blinds For Living Rooms

Choosing the best blinds for living rooms can be tricky. There are so many options with different functionalities! Plus, it’s probably where you spend most of your time, so you’ll want to make sure you make the right decision.

Rollers, Romans, Verticals, Venetians, Vision, Panel, Pleated, Velux, Perfect-Fit, Shutters, and Allusion are all suitable blinds for living rooms. But to find the best blinds for your living room, you’ll need to consider what you want the blinds for! This is because all styles and fabric choices offer different benefits.

What to Consider When Choosing Blinds for Living Rooms

1) Blinds for Living Rooms with Light and Privacy Control

Is your living room facing the main road, another house, or a busy park? Do you often catch passers-by peering in? If the answer to any of the above is yes, privacy control should be a key consideration.

If it is privacy control you require, we recommend three different blind styles: Vision, Venetian or Vertical. All these styles will grant you almost total privacy whilst still letting the sunlight in.

Vision blinds for living rooms are a great choice, especially if it’s a statement piece you’re looking for! Thanks to their horizontal stripes and flexibility, you have full control over light-blocking and privacy, depending on where you position the stripes.

Venetians and Verticals make fantastic blinds for living rooms. Their tilting slat system allows you to angle the blinds so that an outsider cannot see in, but the light still shines in through the gaps!

Venetian blinds for living rooms

2) Blinds for Living Rooms with Little Space Around the Windows

Are your windowsills filled up with picture frames, vases, and ornaments? If so, be sure to consider how much space is left for a blind.

You’ll be glad to know though, there are still lots of options when it comes to blinds for living rooms with little space around the windows!

Pleated blinds for living rooms are ideal. Firstly, they require very little space in terms of depth. They’ll also improve energy efficiency in your home by insulating your windows!

Perfect-Fit blinds for living rooms are an effective space-saving choice. They’re built into a discreet plastic frame that is attached to your windows with no drilling required! Then, you can open the blinds from the top to the bottom of the frame, without interrupting your windowsill décor! The perfect-fit system works with Venetians, pleated and roller blinds.

Another option is to go for an ‘Exact’ fit rather than the more popular ‘Recess’ blind fit. This way, your blinds will hang over the outside of your windowsill area, rather than within the recess. Take a look at our measuring guide for more information on this!

3) Blinds for Living Rooms with Tricky Window Styles

Consider whether your living room has any tricky windows!

Lots of living rooms feature big bay windows at the front of the house. Whilst they’re a desirable asset to have, there will be times when you’ll want to cover those large windows for some privacy.

However, if you do have bay windows, you might be restricted by which blinds you can choose. Your choice of blinds will depend on which style of bay window you have. For example, rollers, Venetians, and Romans won’t work in a ‘Bow’ bay window – however, vertical blinds will! Be sure to do your research.

For more information about which blinds work best for bay windows, have a read of our blog: What Are the Best Blinds for Bay Windows?

Roman blinds for living rooms

4) Blinds for Living Rooms with Hard-to-Reach Windows

To be honest, whether you have hard-to-reach windows or not, motorised blinds for living rooms are always a good idea. But still, you should consider whether you need (or want) them!

Motorised blinds are operated using a remote control or an app on your mobile. Sounds Perfect! Take a seat, relax, and simply click the button. How much easier does it get! But of course, for blinds on skylight or Velux windows, motorisation will make your life a lot easier!

Having motorised blinds also means you can control them even when you’re at work or on holiday – a great security feature.

Velux blinds for living rooms

5) Match Your Décor with Stylish Blinds for Living Rooms

Last but certainly not least, you’ll want to consider how the blinds are going to look with your décor.

Blinds for living rooms are not susceptible to the challenges faced by kitchens and bathrooms, so these blinds should last many years! Therefore, we recommend going for a timeless blind design that will endure several living room décor changes over the years.

What Are Child Safe Blinds and Why Do You Need Them?

What Are Child Safe Blinds and Why Do You Need Them?

Have you ever wondered what ’child safe blinds’ really means? What isn’t safe about a regular blind? What makes a blind child safe? Do child safe blinds come in a range of different styles? Stay with us on this blog to find out…

When choosing blinds for your children’s bedroom there are lots to consider. What colour should you buy, which style of blind, do they need to be a blackout, and so on. But most importantly, you should know what to look for in child safe blinds.

At A1 Blinds, we follow all procedures to produce child safe blinds. As an absolute minimum, all our blinds meet the European Standard BS EN 13120 for both performance and safety. From the design process through to production, safety is at the forefront of all we do. This enables us to make beautiful, child safe blinds.

What Are Child Safe Blinds?

Child safe blinds are blinds that have been designed and produced with the safety of children in mind. This means that the blinds will be cordless or have cords that are tensioned or kept out of reach of baby’s and small children.

New European standards have recently become law in the UK. This means that all new blinds must be safe by design or supplied with appropriate child safety devices.

A blind which is ‘safe by design’ is cordless or has concealed or tensioned cords. These blinds are usually pushed or pulled into position using a wand or your hands. Motorised blinds and shutters are other options for child safe blinds that are safe by design as they are cordless. There are also safe by design options for roller, Venetian, vertical, pleated, and Roman blinds.

Appropriate safety devices to add to your blinds include chain-break connectors, cord/chain tidy’s and tensioners, and cleats.

Why Do You Need Child Safe Blinds?

As children grow, as does their curiosity. This means they’re likely to touch and ‘play’ with things they probably shouldn’t. Even though blinds are not innately unsafe, there have been instances of death and injury involving children and blinds. By taking simple precautions such as choosing child safe blinds, you can significantly reduce the risk.

Young children can be strangled by loose loops in pull cords, chains, tapes, and inner cords. To avoid this entirely, you should follow these simple procedures.

If you’re not opting for cordless blinds, make sure all cords are always secured out of reach of children. Do not tie cords or chains together and make sure that they do not twist to create a loop.

Move beds, cots, and high chairs away from the window so that a child cannot reach any cords whilst they are in them.

Move all furniture away from the windows… Children love to climb! Therefore, moving chairs or other furniture away will prevent children from climbing up and reaching cords or chains.

Disney Children's Bedroom Blinds

Turning Your Existing Blinds into Child Safe Blinds

When buying new blinds for your home, you should opt for child safe blinds. However, existing blinds with loose cords and chains may also pose a threat to children. But there are ways to make those safer too.

There is a range of safety devices available to add to every type of blind.

Chain-break connectors will help you to achieve child safe blinds. These devices will break apart when undue pressure is applied to the chain. Then after inspection, and if it isn’t broken, the connector can be reconnected again.

Cord/Chain tidy’s and tensioners will help to keep cords at a safe height and create child safe blinds. They should be securely fixed to an adjacent surface at the maximum distance, so the cords are held permanently taut by the device.

A cleat fixed securely to an adjacent surface will help to turn your existing blinds into child safe blinds. The cleat should be out of reach of children, at least 1.5 metres from the floor. To make the cleat safe, the cords must be secured in a figure of eight after every use.

If you have children, all blinds within your home, and not just in children’s bedrooms, should be child safe blinds. Do you have child safe blinds in your home?

A1 Blinds offer free home consultations whereby we will come out to your home and advise you of the best blinds and safety measures to suit your individual needs. During this appointment, we’ll measure your windows and bring a range of samples to help you decide. We also offer this service to schools, hospitals, and other public buildings. The Best Blinds for Velux Windows

The Best Blinds for Velux Windows

A1 Blinds are renowned in the North East for producing beautifully made to measure blinds including blinds for Velux windows. More and more homes are having Velux windows installed. Be it in the bedroom, kitchen, or a converted conservatory. They’re certainly in demand in recent years as we all strive for more natural light.

One of the best ways you can brighten your home is with natural light. It’s warming, natural and of course completely free! But whilst natural light in the home is a bonus, there will be times when you’ll want to block out that light.

Light control is a day-to-day necessity. When your child is sleeping, you’re having a lie-in or watching a film – you’ll want to be able to dim the light wherever necessary. It’s also key for protecting your furniture from sun-fading on brighter days.

If your home has Velux or Skylight windows, you’ll probably be wondering what your options are.

Blinds for Velux windows are great for keeping in the warmth and blocking out the light. They’re available in a wide range of styles and performance finishes suiting every home, taste, and budget. Blind styles suitable for Velux windows are rollers, pleated and Venetian blinds- all in the perfect-fit format.

However, we know that choosing blinds for Velux windows can be tricky! They’re often angled, at a height and a bespoke shape. Therefore, you’ll want to make sure you’re well-equipped with all the right information before choosing your blinds for Velux windows or skylights.

Your choice of blinds for Velux windows will largely depend on the room they are for! For the bedroom, the key driver will be choosing a blackout or dimout fabric. Whereas for the living room you’re probably more concerned with the look, colour, and texture. In this blog, we’ll take you through all your options so that choosing the right blinds for your Velux windows will be a breeze!

Roller Blinds for Velux Windows

Roller blinds for Velux windows in your bedroom are an ideal combination. This is because they’re available in a blackout or standard fabric, with lots of colours to choose from. Therefore, finding a design to suit your room should be easy.

We also have a selection of Disney roller blinds for Velux windows that are perfect for your children’s bedroom blinds!

Venetian Blinds for Velux Windows

The perfect choice for bathrooms, kitchens, and offices. Venetian blinds for Velux windows offer brilliant light and privacy control as well as being moisture resistant! (That’s if you opt for faux wood or aluminium!).

Available in metallic, wood, or smooth textured finishes, Venetian blinds for Velux windows will look beautifully modern whilst doing their job!

Pleated Blinds for Velux Windows

Choose pleated blinds for Velux windows if it’s a soft, shading effect you’re looking for. When lifted, the pleats fold in on themselves to give a zigzag effect. When closed the zigzag transforms into more of a subtle wave adding tons of texture!

Pleated blinds for Velux windows are extremely easy to keep clean. This is ideal as the height of Velux windows often makes them difficult to access.

Available in standard, blackout, coloured and patterned fabrics, our range of pleated blinds for Velux windows has something to match every space.

How To Style Your Blinds for Velux Windows

What Are Made to Measure Blinds?

What Are Made to Measure Blinds?

When it comes to choosing new blinds for your home, you have two options. Made to measure blinds, or ready-made, off the shelf blinds. In this blog, we’ll explain the difference, and why we champion made to measure blinds here at A1!

Made to measure is a term that’s thrown around often. But what does it mean? Made to measure blinds are bespoke blinds that are made exactly to your specifications. This includes everything from their size, fit, and fabric, to the accessories, and even which side the control chain sits on!

In comparison, ready-made blinds are available off the shelf. They come in set sizes, colours, and designs as standard. They cannot be personalised. Unfortunately, this often results in ill-fitting blinds that are not quite right! That’s why at A1, we would always recommend choosing made to measure blinds…

We’ve been manufacturing made to measure blinds across the North East region for over 30 years! We’re an expert team of craftsmen with a wealth of experience in producing and fitting a wide range of high-quality blinds and shutters. Our range covers everything from rollers, Romans, verticals, and more.

Why Made to Measure Blinds Are the Best

  1. Made to Measure Blinds Are the Perfect Fit for Your Window

Every home – and window – is different. This can make purchasing new blinds tricky.

The main reason for choosing made to measure blinds is that the overall finish is better. This is because they are produced with your exact window in mind. Therefore, they’ll look the perfect fit with a clean-cut finish. Having a good fit will help to keep more light out, offer more privacy, and help to keep the warmth in too!

A ready-made alternative is likely to need to be cut down to size to suit your window width. Cutting an off the shelf blind can sometimes result in inaccurate lengths or frayed edges, plus, you can never guarantee they’ll properly fit your window! Unlike with made to measure blinds.

Made to measure blinds

  1. A Huge Range of Options for Made to Measure Blinds

Another reason you should choose made to measure blinds is that they’re made exactly to your style and requirements.

All our blinds are produced from scratch in our Blaydon factory, so we can provide the exact blinds that you need for your space. This could include a dimout lining for a bedroom, splash-proof fabric for your kitchen, or a black metal chain to match the rest of your décor! The world of made to measure blinds brings so many options when it comes to dressing your windows.

Made to measure blinds give you the freedom to create the perfect blinds for your home. Not only do A1 offer 11 different blind styles, but we also have thousands of colour and fabric options to choose from too!

Did you know you can order up to 5 free samples from our website? This will make choosing your made to measure blinds so much easier! Simply head to the product page and add a sample to your basket. Alternatively, you can visit our showrooms to see all our products on display.

What Are The Best Blinds for Bay Windows?

What Are The Best Blinds for Bay Windows?

Bay windows are a key feature in your home, so you must know how to dress them with the perfect blinds for bay windows! A bay window allows lots of light into a room, as well as an enhanced view. But this comes together with the need for protecting your privacy and controlling the light when necessary.

So, what is a bay window?

Once tied solely to period homes, bay windows have made a comeback in modern-day architecture and design. They protrude outwards from the main walls – creating an illusion of more space in a room and bringing more of the outside in.

There are several styles of bay windows. Different angles, amounts of windows, sizes, and heights. So, before you choose the best blinds for your bay windows, you need to figure out what type of bay windows you have:

Bow windows: Usually made up of one large pane of curved glass.
Angled (AKA canted) bay windows: Made up of a flat-fronted glass pane and 2 angled side panes.
Multi-faceted bay windows: As above, but they are made with five or seven panes of glass, rather than three.
Triangular bay windows: Made up of two panes of glass, installed at a 120-degree angle.
Oriel bay windows: A set of windows arranged together in a bay, braced underneath by a bracket or corbel. Typically found in gothic style properties.

It’s important to consider the style of your bay when it comes to picking the best bay window blinds. The last thing you want to do is cover up stunning views or reduce the charm of your bay windows! Bear this in mind when you’re choosing! But for now, read on to discover A1’s picks for the best blinds for bay windows…

Roman Blinds for Bay Windows

Romans are a great choice for all bay windows with angled panes of glass. Individual blinds can be mounted to each windowpane.

Thanks to their soft appearance they help to bring a cosy vibe to your room by reducing hard lines and adding texture. As you open the blinds the fabric drapes over itself, adding layers and framing your window elegantly. You can also opt for a lined Roman if you require a dimout blind in a bedroom or living space for example.

Roman Bay Window Blinds

Venetian Blinds for Bay Windows

With a choice of aluminium, wood or faux wood, Venetians are a popular choice of blinds for bay windows. Thanks to their tilting slats, Venetians are perfect blinds for bay windows if you’re prioritising light and privacy control. And of course, they look the part too!

Roller Blinds for Bay Windows

Roller blinds offer a sleeker look in comparison to the elegance of Roman blinds for bay windows.

Ideal for most bay window styles, roller blinds come in a wide range of fabrics and colours. They’re also available in dimout fabrics, making them a good option for living areas where light control is necessary.

Vertical Blinds for Bay Windows

Verticals are one of the most versatile blinds as they work across every style of bay window. Ideal for curved windows especially, the headrail can be bent to fit the curve of your window exactly! This means that the blinds won’t detract from your beautiful, curved bay window.

Choosing vertical blinds for bay windows is easy as there are so many designs to choose from.

Shutters Instead of Blinds for Bay Windows

The popularity of shutters has rocketed over the past few years. And it’s easy to see why! Choosing shutters instead of blinds for bay windows introduces an extra level of charm. Perfect for angled and multi-faceted bay windows, shutters are the perfect window dressing if you’re looking for something a little different!

Also, thanks to their thicker and rigid frames, shutters work well for insulating your home from both heat and noise!

5 Ways To Style Your Roller Blinds

Roller blinds are one of our most popular blind styles year on year. Understandable really! They give a modern look to any window and can be styled to your tastes and needs.

So, what is a roller blind? Roller blinds are a single piece of fabric that is rolled around a metal pole and fit across the top of your window. They can be fitted either on the inside or the outside. These blinds operate by unrolling to cover your window via a chain mechanism that is attached to the casting. Or, you can opt for the motorised mechanism whereby they open at the touch of a button!

The versatility in our range of roller blinds makes them a perfect choice for every room in the home. Our PVC roller blinds are superb for kitchens and bathrooms, as they can be wiped clean and are moisture resistant. Their contemporary design means they’ll complement any décor in a bedroom or living room alike. And, with blackout and dimout options available, roller blinds are a brilliant choice for complete light control.

At A1 there are endless possibilities when it comes to designing your roller blind! With thousands of fabrics to choose from, as well as a choice of bottom edge design and accessories, you’re truly able to make them your own. So, whether you coordinate your blinds across the house or mix it up from room to room, the choice is yours, and we have plenty! Read on to discover our top tips for styling your roller blinds.

1. Patterned Roller Blinds

Styling your home with patterned roller blinds will liven up your space instantly!

Large-scale patterns are on trend this season, but a smaller pattern is just as effective. You can use patterned roller blinds to pull together accent colours, or to decorate a plainer space. Style your pattered blinds with matching curtains, cushions or a rug. Or, have them as a statement piece to inject some colour.

We have lots to choose from when it comes to patterned roller blinds. Choose from a selection of dainty florals, geometric prints, large retro patterns and more!

2. Coloured Roller Blinds

Who said plain has to be boring? Plain coloured roller blinds could be the pop of colour that your home needs!

For a timeless look go for a neutral colour like grey, beige or off-white. Or, if you’re a little more daring, dark blue, green and ochre have proven very popular this year. These shades are all very versatile and can be styled with many other colours time and time again!

We suggest choosing a textured fabric with a plain coloured blind. This will add some depth and warmth to your space.

And then there’s also colour blocking! We have several roller blinds with a colour block design that work beautifully for dressing your windows. Colour block is a great way to join two colour schemes together, be it contrasting or complementary. Colour block roller blinds add a cool vibe to your home.

3. Roller Blinds With A Shaped Hem

Having a roller blind with a shaped hem has the power to soften a room completely. A scalloped finish will bring a touch of elegance to your window and is a great addition to a plain or subtle print.

A more traditional straight edge roller blind works best for a louder pattern or bolder colour, allowing the fabric design to take centre stage.

4. Accessories For Your Roller Blinds

Make them your own with that extra little finishing touch! Adding accessories to your roller blinds adds an air of luxury to a window. Our range covers braids, eyelets and pulls.

Our fabric braids are an elegant and fun addition to your roller blinds. Go for an accent shade or a contrasting colour, sewn onto the hem for a subtle yet beautiful design.

Eyelets are a smart addition to your roller blinds and are also a great way to style a plainer design. They are sewn in a row along the bottom of the hem for a sophisticated look.

A decorative pull finishes off a blind perfectly. From fabric and wood to metal and beads, there’s an option to suit every décor.

Your children’s bedroom is a great opportunity to get creative with colours and prints. It’s important to make a fun and comfortable space that they will enjoy! But when it comes to picking your children’s bedroom blinds, there’s more to consider than just how they will look. Think sleep, safety and style.

In this blog, we’ll run through our latest collections of children’s bedroom blinds, including the most popular designs, blackout and child-safe options.

Colourful children’s bedroom blinds

The colour choice for your children’s bedroom blinds will depend upon their age! Pastel colours for your newborn will create a nursery that feels calm and restful… For you and the baby. You could go blue for a boy and pink for a girl or keep it neutral for that minimal look.

Younger toddlers are learning their primary colours, and so bright and cheery schemes are what it’s all about! Reds, yellows and blues will make an exciting space for them to grow up in.

As they grow up they might want to be more involved in choosing their own bedroom accessories. We have a range that will keep you and the children happy, including colour block blinds, pale pinks and more.

At A1 Blinds we have a range of blinds in every colour and shade – helping you to match your children’s bedroom blinds with the rest of their bedroom perfectly.

Patterned children's bedroom blinds

The perfect style for children’s bedroom blinds

Our collection has over 15 different blinds styles to choose from, however the most popular for children’s bedrooms are roller blinds and Roman blinds. Probably because they’re available in patterned and blackout options!

One of our best-selling styles, roller blinds are a simplistic but effective solution. Perfect for children’s bedroom blinds, the single-piece fabric shows off the design beautifully.

Our Roman blinds are an elegant window dressing option. They offer a soft visual to your windows whilst adding more of your chosen colours or patterns to your room in a folded fabric blind.

For those of you with a Velux window in your children’s bedrooms, we also have several patterned and themed Velux window blinds. This range includes Disney’s Cars, Winnie The Pooh, cloud prints and more.

Blackout children’s bedroom blinds

So we’ve talked about style but now for the important part. Sleep.

Babies, toddlers, and children need up to 12 hours of sleep per night, plus naps during the day. This can certainly be difficult when the sun is beaming through the windows!

Blackout window blinds are ideal for reducing light levels in a bedroom and creating a restful area for your children. Not only that, but they’re also perfect for keeping rooms cool by reducing their sunlight levels.

Blackout fabrics, therefore, produce the perfect children’s bedroom blinds.

Many of our roller blinds, Roman blinds, pleated blinds, vertical blinds, panel blinds, vision blinds, and Velux blinds are available with a blackout fabric.

Also if you like the sound of blackouts for your own bedroom, we have an entire range of blackout window binds to suit your style too.

Child safe blinds

Of course, your children’s bedroom blinds need to look the part, but safety always comes first. And in fact, all blinds within the home, not just in children’s bedrooms, should comply with Child Safety Regulations.

Upon ordering your blinds, you can talk with the team and they will provide you with all the additional child safety options and guidance when it comes to your blinds. Our fitters will also install all of the safety accessories you need on the day of your fitting.

So when you buy from A1 Blinds, not only will you have beautiful blinds, but you can rest assured that all of our products comply with Child Safety Laws.

Anti-microbial children’s bedroom blinds

Anti-microbial window blinds have been widely requested within commercial and healthcare settings for a long time. However, they do also have a place within the home.

The anti-microbial treatment that is applied to blinds offers proven protection from microbial attack by controlling the growth of unwanted microbes. But not only this, and what makes it perfect for children’s bedroom blinds, is that it prevents stains that are caused by bacteria and fungi.

Therefore, you’ll have blinds that are fresher and cleaner for longer.

What Are The Best Blinds For Bathrooms?

What Are The Best Blinds For Bathrooms?

What are the best blinds for bathrooms? Finding the right ones could help you make your home warmer, dryer, and prevent issues developing over time. Blinds play a crucial role in your home, helping you control the light that gets into it, and helping to insulate your living space too.

However, in bathrooms, they could be even more important. Bathrooms get hot and humid, especially after you use them for long baths and showers. As a result, the room can become damp and moist, creating the conditions for condensation to thrive. At A1, though, we’re the number one for a wide range of blinds that are best to protect your bathrooms.

How Do Blinds Protect Bathrooms?

The best blinds can prevent condensation from developing in your bathroom. When you take a bath or shower, the moisture and heat they create can collect inside the room. Because of this, the room becomes humid and damp, which means your windows steam up. Over time, that could develop into condensation, or even mould.

By installing A1’s innovative blinds, you’ll be able to stop the condensation from building up on your windows. That way, they’ll be able to last longer, and you won’t have to worry about health risks or rising repair costs.

Additionally, the best blinds can make a bathroom more private. You’ll be able to tilt the blinds down whenever you need to, meaning no prying eyes will be able to look inside. Not only that, but blinds create another layer of insulation for your bathroom, minimising the amount of cold air that can travel into the room.

As a result, you’ll be able to improve the performance of your home. When you keep the blinds down, you’ll get more warmth and privacy, but you won’t have to lose out on light. You can always open them back up to light your bathroom, and they can improve air circulation to reduce the risk of condensation even further.

Roller Blinds For Bathrooms

Roller blinds are one of the best choices for bathrooms on the market today. Roller blinds use fabrics in the majority of their designs, which can deal with moist conditions. That means, when the room heats up and dampness begins to develop, the fabric can absorb it and prevent that moisture from collecting.

Additionally, A1 offers blackout roller blinds: robust designs that shut out the world around you when you need it. As a result, you’ll get total privacy and peace of mind whenever you go to your bathroom.

Vertical Blinds For Bathrooms

Vertical blinds also provide sufficient protection for your bathroom windows. They use a range of fabrics in their design too, but you’ll be able to benefit from a greater level of choice. For example, you can select vertical blinds with PVC fabrics and chainless weights.

Blinds like these are incredibly resilient, and they can withstand even the hottest, most humid conditions without a hitch. Vertical blinds are also easy to use and open for years to come, giving you total control over the performance of your space.

Venetian Blinds For Bathrooms

Venetian blinds are a design classic from A1, adding leading quality designs to any bathrooms. However, if you have a bathroom that can become damp and wet, these timeless options may not be the right choice. Venetian blinds have slats in their design which aren’t as resilient as other options.

Because of this, dampness and water can corrode each slat over time, meaning the blind wears down over time. If you’d like to find out more about Venetian blinds in bathrooms, though, you can always consult one of A1’s experts.

Roman Blinds For Bathrooms

If you’d like to fit roman blinds for your bathrooms, it may depend on the size of the room. If you have a larger, well-ventilated bathroom, then Roman blinds add real class and complete protection. However, in a smaller room where the humidity can be more intense, Roman blinds aren’t as useful.

However, their sophisticated look is ideal for any room, especially traditional spaces. You’ll bring blinds to your bathroom with a softer design, giving you an ideal balance of light and privacy when you pull them down.

Choose A1 For The Best Blinds For Bathrooms
