Fly Screens
At A1 Blinds, we measure and fit both retractable and hinged fly screens. These highly effective mesh coverings provide a complete insect screening solution and are made with the best quality materials. Our insect screens are suitable for domestic and office properties and provide a practical, discreet way to keep rooms insect-free.
Why Choose Fly Screens?
There are several reasons why it’s worth installing fly screens, including:
Less Insects
Fed up with wasps, houseflies, mosquitos and other creepy crawlies invading your living space? Flyscreens will dramatically reduce the number of unwanted visitors.
Filtered Air
Flyscreens catch airbourne pollutants and dirt as well as insects, helping you get more fresh air in the home.
Easy To Use
Our insect screens are retractable and magnetised to keep them closed. They’re very user-friendly and simple to activate.

Further Advantages
Work with A1 Blinds and you’ll also get these benefits:
Better Hygiene
Household pests can spread bacteria and pose a risk in places like kitchens or dining rooms where they can get onto your food. Installing insect screens will reduce the risk.
More Ventilation
If flies are a constant problem you’re less likely to open your windows, which can get unbearable on hot days. Flyscreens let you use your windows whenever you fancy, giving you a better ventilated and cooler house.
Discreet Designs
Modern flyscreens are surprisingly subtle. If you’re worried your new screen might be an eyesore, don’t be. The mesh is very fine and easy to overlook, and when closed, they slide neatly into discreet cassettes.

Find answers to our most popular questions here.
Will I Need To Clean My Insect Screens?
Yes, due to their very nature, they can get dirty and require cleaning. We recommend using an over-the-counter cleaning spray and cloth. We suggest cleaning the mesh every four months or so, but if you live near a river, lake or other body of water, do it more frequently.
Do Fly Screens Keep Out Spiders?
Yes, they block access for all creepy crawlies, not just flying ones. The good news for arachnophobes is they keep spiders out.
Can I Put An Insect Screen On The Same Window As My Blinds?
Yes, we can coordinate the two installations so that they fit comfortably alongside each other.
What Is The Lifespan Of An Insect Screen?
Providing they’re not accidentally damaged or mistreated, our flyscreens are durable enough to last ten to fifteen years.
